• Developed machine learning algorithms to classify URLs as benign or malicious, utilizing a dataset of over 650,000 entries categorized into benign, phishing, defacement, and malware URLs
• Utilized tools and libraries including Python, scikit-learn, and tldextract for development and analysis
• Engineered comprehensive extraction and data processing techniques including tokenization of URL components (e.g. top-level domain, subdomains, paths) and analysis of character distributions to enhance model quality
• Implemented and tuned logistic regression model and developed data visualizations to compare multiple classification models and analyze efficacy of results using software-defined confusion matrices and ROC curves

Predicting Movie Ratings Based on Textual Data

• Co-developed a Natural Language Processing pipeline to predict IMDB movie review ratings using both regression and multi-class classification approaches
• Built and evaluated a bidirectional LSTM deep learning model to analyze semantic and contextual patterns in over 100,000 text reviews
• Completed rigorous hyperparameter tuning, adjusting embedding sizes, dropout rates, learning rate, and network depth to improve model performance and accuracy
